We have a new guide today, James by name. Ben and Lisa have been diverted to another group coming in today that will be way more work than we are. They have been great guides and we are sorry not to have the last day with them, but this can’t be helped! We think that cycling on and about Mt. Wellington and then going for a bit of a hike will be a good way to spend this final day. So off we go from Richmond to Hobart and start up Mt. Wellington. But the rain starts to pour, so we decide on plan two. Back down the mountain and along the coast to Kingston. On the bikes and off we cycle back to Hobart. Stop for lunch and then collectively decide that we are fine with calling it a day. We say good-bye to Pat and Dick, our new US friends, first. Then we get dropped at Hertz where our rental car is waiting for us, and so we say good-bye to Aussie Laurie and James. Of course we hope everyone has an opportunity to visit us in Yukon! Tasmanian Expeditions has been great … this very first cycling tour of ours a success!
We find our way back to Richmond and check into our charming self-contained cottage. The weather is very blustery so we don’t do much walking. There are some arrangements to make for the next few days which you will hear about later and then a connection to make to update this site. And so we will!
