It’s a two hour drive to ‘Keji’, well add on an extra half hour for a coffee stop in Bridgewater, the stop in at the registration desk, stop in at the Canoe Guys place to pick up our canoes, unload the trucks, pack it all into the canoes and we are finally on the water around 12:30. It’s a short paddle down the shoreline where we stop for lunch and stroll down to the ice cream shop. Yup! you read it right, down to the ice cream shop for some extraordinarily large ice cream cones.
We certainly didn’t do this on our first trip ten years ago! Okay so we are not interested in roughing it. We finally make our first nights campsite, which incidentally, is the same one we stayed at ten years ago. In fact except for a couple spots, we end up doing almost the identical route from ten years ago. Talk about deja vu. The next four days are just great, here are a few of the pictures to back that up!
Thanks Karen … did you check out the Unexpected … heading? And weren’t the portages fun? The cds are great by the way, have really enjoyed them. And the maps and stuff from Gros Morne will be in the mail before we get to far west again… thanks for the use of them. Newfoundland is really a blast. Will have to visit here again … care to join us?
