Today we packed up and moved to Fitzroy Provincial Park located on the shores of the Ottawa River just east of Arnprior. We are just waiting for Kimberley to arrive and for the big celebration on the hill on July 1. So not much to report for this day and the thirtieth. Just lazing around and exploring a little bit. We also managed to find the bunker built for the Prime Minister of Canada at the time, John Diefenbaker. This bunker was built in secret, in the early sixties and was intended to protect the PM and a few close cronies in the event of a nuclear attack. The place has come to be known as Diefenbunker and as you are all aware has never been used except that it was prepared for occupancy during the Cuban missile crisis. Thanks a lot – we got an air raid warning system to let us know it was coming, they got to watch the show!
Kimmer arrives tonight so we are off to pick her up after doing a little housework in the trailer.
