We plod along the backroads for a while, amazed at the ‘every-other-acre-by-the-lake-mansion’. Either building a monolith is less than expensive here, or every other person is a millionaire! There doesn’t seem to be any regard for land management or the environment with this type of building. I can’t believe this is sustainable though, so I’m shaking my head as I knit. I am now onto my first sock. I’ll get the now finished scarf washed and blocked and then take a picture. I still love the colours, so will be happy to show it off! After this backroad stuff for a while, it is on to the 401. We soon sense the frenetic pace of a population that is in a big hurry to go somewhere else. I do not want to see an accident, it would be nothing short of terrible. We stop in Woodstock to get a Kitchener map and visit the Outdoor Expo. That was a bit of a mistake, but only ours for not really stopping to think about why we would want to go. Oh well! We had planned to come back tomorrow to take it in, now we don’t waste our time returning … there really is always an upside isn’t there?
We manage to get to Dorothy’s quite easily and have very little time to wait for her to arrive home. I have been reading her Christmas letters for most of 16 years and finally we meet. Of course she’s as wonderful as I thought she would be. We have a great visit and try to sort out how the rest of the time might go. Oscar, Oreo and Buddy get along just fine. Peggy the cat just decides to avoid the pests.
