It hits us today like a blast furnace! This is the first, true southern Ontario hazy, hot and humid day. We do not travel very far today due to a very late departure and the heat. We opt for the beaches at Pinery Provincial Park. This is a huge park, well the park is not huge, but there are 1,000 campsites which basically makes up the park. The exceptional beach and its proximity to Toronto and Sarnia could explain the huge number of campsites.
The area is quite sandy with fairly large sand dunes. The heat has drained both of us. The temperature tops out at 35 degrees. We manage to drag ourselves down to the waters edge to wade in the cooling waters and take a stroll along the beach. We see cardinals and raccoons, but mostly it is a day of little ambition and lots and lots of liquids.
Wait until you hit the Maritimes in July. Hopefully there won’t be a drought this year.
