Brownlee Lake Park is a nice little private campground beside, are you ready for this, Brownlee Lake (near Thessalon). On our way into this campground we noticed this Round Barn gift shop, so we stop in on our way out. The place is owned by Mark West and his family and it is one of two 12-sided round barns in Canada. They have a wonderful gift shop full of really nice things, mostly made in Canada, but a few from other places. We spend some time, some money, and it is here that I find out that my nice small-mouth bass is somewhat more than just nice. It’s a whopper in fact. I guess a lot in fishing just comes down to the right place at the right time. I sent this whopper back to the lake, so have fun trying to catch him again, those of you who live there! I’ve a hard time convincing Lynn that I should quit my day job and join the pro Bass circuit!
Espanola is a great little place … but too bad about the Domtar plant in the middle of it! We didn’t take any pictures to show you, but I’m sure you can envision the sight! The scenery is quite pastoral, or rural perhaps. Lots of maple trees line the roadside in most places. We stop at the information centre in Little Current to check out the ferry information, let us and the dogs uncross their legs and make a bite to eat. There is an interesting bridge at Little Current, but sorry, no pictures again, must have been too hungry!
We make our way to Providence Bay which is nearer to the ferry and set up at the Providence Bay Tent and Trailer Park. This evening we take a bit of a tour about the island and now manage to take a few pictures.
