WOW … they know and understand the details of making an incredibly enjoyable and memorable visit a reality. The gardens were begun by Mr. & Mrs. Butchart in an effort to beautify a worked-out quarry site. The quarry, its limestone exhausted, offended Mrs. Butchart’s sensitive feeling of beauty and she resolved to include it in her plans for landscaping their home grounds. Thus began a ‘gardening’ experiment that was soon to have far reaching results. They are worth every penny it takes to get there and plan on spending the day … you won’t regret it! Our pictures are not a good substitute for the real thing, but hope they encourage you to go!
