Why is it that people seem to think it okay to just drop garbage wherever? We think it amazing, it doesn’t matter where we go, if people have been there before, there is garbage! Disgusting … I think we will always pack a garbage bag when we walk the dogs, not just to clean up after them, but big enough to clean up after the people who don’t appear to care about not trashing this planet. And I’ll challenge everyone who reads this to not drop a scrap of garbage anywhere except in a garbage bin, and to pick up something someone else dropped.
Okay, that soapbox done, it was a great, though bumpy drive from Boya Lake to Meziadin Junction. The Stikine River Valley was my concern of the Stewart Cassiar Highway, and while we spent a few kilometers in second gear making the climb out of the valley, we would have had to gear down that far in any case because of the 30 km corners. The truck seems to be handling the load rather well to this point. The park at Meziadin is very nice, well developed and seems quite serene. Be warned that there aren’t too many campsites that aren’t cheek by jowl! It is very nice to have campgrounds almost entirely to ones self, only one other vehicle at Boya Lake and Meziadin Lake. Oscar and Oreo appreciate the freedom to chase Ravens, Gray Jays, Stellar Jays, and of course squirrels to their hearts content.
Small panic, thought to turn on the iBook and nothing but a black screen, then discovered the outlets in the trailer weren’t working. Hmmm, what next, perhaps that we have a full tank of fresh water, when we thought we were travelling empty? Okay, one thing at a time, the iBook just needed recharging. So the outlets work just fine when we are actually plugged into electricity and we have yet to discover why they don’t work when on battery. The fresh water is just a case of miscommunication!
Awesome Photo. You are really doing a nice job with that new camera!
