We are off to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens today. They are located in Hamilton and so it should be easy from here. Of course we manage to get turned around trying to get out of Kitchener, but it isn’t insurmountable and after a few testy words, get our bearings again and find the right way out. We expect to find another Butchart Gardens but soon realize that is not the case. Butchart is for saying oooh and ahhh what pretty flowers and isn’t that a lovely arrangement. The Royal Botanical Gardens are for … oh, that’s what the wooly thyme looks like and this is correctly named thymus pseudolanuginosus!
The RBG is more a collection and educational location and was certainly worth the trip to Hamilton. Especially as we managed to go to Dundurn Castle as well. That was a great bonus. The interpreters … all three of them for the forty rooms, were great. You can tell when someone loves what they are doing! Do visit if you have an opportunity.
