We got off to an early start this morning … into Fernie to have a nice wander around, find a double latte for Lynn, take lots of pictures with the 35 mm camera cause the batteries aren’t recharged yet, and then discover it is already 11 am. Hmmm … time change happened in the truck but not in the trailer. Oh well, we are on holidays and there are no deadlines! Fernie is obviously a hopping sort of place, lots of new development for the skiiers that must come here in the winter. We really like the feel of this place. It would certainly be interesting to come here in the winter to see what the atmosphere is like.
The Crowsnest Pass is a breeze … we are amazed at the extent of the Frank Slide, but still no photos on the digital camera. The other point of interest is the windmill farm near Pincher Creek. These generate electricity and are very bizarre on the farming landscape.
Ft. MacLeod is a small community that has its place in Canadian history, but we are tired and decide to forgo the education and head out to our campground instead. We are getting really good at setting up and that takes less and less time fortunately!
