Wikipedia says “The city of Istanbul has been known through the ages under a large number of different names. The most notable names besides the modern Turkish name are Byzantium, Constantinople and Stamboul.” I think Istanbul has a nice ring to it. The people are very friendly and even through the rain, I can see more photo opps than you can imagine. The new against the old, the shapes of now beside then, colours and neutral nothingness. With the rain coming down in varying degrees of drizzle, I keep pulling my camera out as I can’t resist. I’m not sure any photo I take will tell the story though.
I don’t think we mentioned all the cats there were in Israel. They are feral cats and were everywhere. Well they’re all over the place in Istanbul as well. We didn’t do much this first full day. Lynn wakes up with a nasty cold. So we have a late breakfast, work on L2O2, have a nap in the afternoon, then a quick stroll around, just to stretch the legs and get a feel for the place.
Those are cool boots. Very nice but I would not wear them. If you are planning to buy some, a purse in this type would be perfect. Thanks for thinking of me. FYI all of us are good at home. O’s are feeling great! Love Kim and Mom
