What a lot of driving … a very big drive! We left Koshlong Lake Monday morning at 9ish and managed to get to a nice and very quiet Provincial Park near Cochrane. We had planned to stop at Kap Kag I Wan Provincial Park near Englehardt but that park has been demoted to a day use only park. It was very pretty and is a great place for a picnic lunch.
We really must be in a hurry as we are awake at 5:30 am and on the road shortly after 6:00. The northern TransCanada Highway is very much trees, fields, farms, and then lots more trees. There are a few towns, pulp and paper mills, and maybe a river or lake now and then. Mostly trees, have I mentioned there are lots of trees? The scenery around Lake Nipigon is worth taking this route for. It provides a break from all those trees! We have such an early start and not much to slow down for so Thunder Bay is achieved by 4 in the afternoon. A very long day! Then we decide we have to get the truck serviced and the last week of blogs downloaded. This really isn’t a problem but it is 7 pm by the time we leave Thunder Bay for Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park. Good night!
